Welcome note by Sh. Hind Al Khalifa

“This year is our 2nd Film Festival. The fact that we were able to make last year so successful is a testament to the commitment of our volunteers, sponsors, staff and film makers and the support of the people who strongly believe in this noble cause we wouldn’t have succeeded.
The Festival is dedicated to promoting cross-cultural awareness, the exchange of ideas and social understanding through the art of film within the inclusive and diverse community of Bahrain and to raising funds for programs supporting refugee unaccompanied minors in Greece. Designed to engage, enrich and inspire audiences, this exciting festival features award-winning contemporary documentaries united by the theme of ‘bridging cultures’, with humanity, food, art, sports and through experience.
This year we are planning a bigger event than last year and expect to screen 10 films on a broad range of subjects at a selection of iconic Bahrain venues. We will again be bringing filmmakers and others related to the films to interact with our audiences. Each film is screened in a social setting and followed by dinner, allowing discussion and affording us an opportunity to remind the audience about the purpose of the Festival, raising social and cultural awareness on a broad range of topics and funds for the unaccompanied minors of HOME Project in Greece. We thank you very much for joining us in making this event a success”.
